Afton's New Sparkle!!

Yesterday (January 28th 2012) was a big moment for Afton she got her ears pierced!! It was not fun to watch her get them pierced but once again I am so glad that we did. My Mom got my ears pierced when I was her same age and I am still so happy that she did otherwise I wouldnt have them pierced. Thanks Mom!! And we did the same for Avery when she was Afton's age and ithas been such a blessing. We have had no problems and its one more tradition that I have been able to share with them. I know it may seems so silly but me passing on the things I did when I was a kid is super important to me. And I feel its something that if they choose to they can pass on to their kids.

Tooth Fairy Pillow

Last weekend we surpised my Mom for her Birthday and came up for a visit. It was their first time meeting Afton. Love at first sight. Afton thought it was the best thing ever she was hald all weekend long. A dream come true for her. So this week has been a little rough. But we are getting things back to normal. One of the best things around going for a visit is that I get some much needed time around and dont have to worry about who has my kids. I wish we lived closer it would be so nice to have a date night every once in a while. But I think that make the visit that much better. A few months ago we were going though some old boxes that had stuff from when I was a kid in it. One thing that I pulled out was my tooth fairy pillow that my Mom had maked me. You would put your tooth in the pocket on the back and the tooth fairy would take it and leave you money in the pocket instead. Me and my siblings each had one. When Avery saw it she was wanted one. So I asked my Mom if she would make Avery one. Which of course she was happy to do. (What a great Mom I have). She went out and found the perfect fabric. That had a little girl which looked just like Avery on it with her fairy wings. It was perfect Avery fall in love with it and has not stopped sleeping with it since. But when we stopped in for a visit my Mom had come up a other idea for a tooth fairy pillow. And it was super cute and I just love it. And she had one for Afton as well. I told you I have a great Mom. I love passing on this tradition with my girls. When Avery asked Blain were his tooth pillow was he told her that he didnt have one. She told him that she would share hers with him. She is so thoughful!! Oh and just a update Avery has not losted any of her teeth just yet. Most of her friends and cousins have but not her. But she didnt get teeth till she was 9 months. So I didnt plan on her losting any just yet. But we are all prepared for when she dose. And just the other day she told me that she thought one was loose. So maybe it will be happening here soon. Time will tell.

2 Months Old

Afton is 2 months old today!! I cant beleive its been 2 months. Time has just zoomed by. She had her 2 month appt today with Dr. Clarke and she got her immunization. She got 2 shots in the right leg and 1 in the left leg. The vacciness that she got were: DTaP, Hib, hepatitis B Shot, polio shot, PCV7(against pneumonia & meningitis), RotaTeq drops. Poor girl I felt so bad for her.(I HATE shots) She has been a little irrtability which is one of the side effect along with sleeping more and not eating as well. Here are Afton's measurements for her Well Child 2 month check.Weight: 9lbs 6oz Lenght: 22 inches Head Circ: 36.9cmAt this age babies start to lift their heads and can often lift the chest when lying on their tummies. Both Avery & Afton have had strong head movements. They have been holding their heads up almost from the fisrt week they were born. Afton has been smiling since she was first born and she has become even more smiley. I love to kiss her little cheeks and hold her up cause she will smile right back at me. She is such a happy baby and loves to be hald. That is the one thing that we struggle with. She will cry till you hold her and sometimes its just not possible to hold her all day. But she is getting more use to it as each day goes by. She has been such a good baby for the most part. We love having her as part of our lifes :)

Ok I have been having all sorts of problems with this blog but today it seems to be working hooray!! Where to begin lots has been happening.....As most of you all know we had a baby girl at the end of November!! We named her Afton Reese Young. She was 7lbs 3oz 17 1/2 inches. And she is such a beautiful baby. She is such a happy girl and Avery thinks she is the greatest thing that ever happened. Avery has been the best helper. Everything that I need she is there to get and is so happy and cheerful about it. I really am so blessed to have such a sweet girl to help out. Poor Blain he is so out numbered!! But I could not think of a better person to put up with all of us girls. I went back to work last week. And it was great. It felts so good to get back into the swing of things. I just hope that things contiune to go well.Well that is a update on all the things that have been going on with us this last passed few weeks. I just hope that this blogger thing contiunes to work so I can keep posting.

This was our first camping trip for 2010. Avery loves to camp!! Which I dont think she gets from me. This girl loves everything about camping the food, fire, adventure walks, dirt&rocks you name it she loves it. So it makes things so fun. Its been forever!! I know I know... Ok so this crazy life I have just keeps me so super crazy busy. But here is a update on what has been going on with us. I started my new job and I really do like it. But there are a few things that kinda bug. But I think you get that with each and every job. But for the most part I do like it. But the thing I miss the most is the people!! Jenn, Hollie, Dr G and yes even some of the patients!! But I am getting to know lots of new people and that has been fun. As for Avery she graduated pre-school this May!! And she was kinda sad that she didnt get to go to Miss Hilary twice a week. But luck for us we still get to hang out. And then she started dance class(tumbling & tap/ballet). She has loved it!! She will start pre-school again in September this time her teacher will be Brooke Stoker. And I think she will have a blast. She has a couple of friends that will be in her class again this year. Which I think always helps!! And then of course Blain... He has been a very busy boy. Work, work and a little bit of Golf if the weather has worked in his favor which has not been much :( And this year he got me to start playing with him on the links. And to my surpise I have really started to like it. What a game Golf is!! Its been fun to play with some other couples and get to have some time together. We have also been spending as much time with family as possible. His Brother Chris will be leaving for Spokana in August and we have really been craming in as much time as possible with him. Look for our camping pic's soon to come!! Its been a busy few months but have been fun and exciting too!! I promise that I will be blogging more just you wait....

My New Job!!

I got a new job. I will be working at All About Teeth as a Dental Assistant/Front Desk. I am really excited and cant wait to start. My first day will be April 5th. Im sad to leave good co-worker and patients. But Im sure that I will meet other great patients and office staff. Wish me luck!!

3 Almost 4!!

My baby girl is almost 4!! Tomorrow she turns 4 and I dont know if im ready for it. I feel like time has just passed to fast. Its crazy to think that its been 4 years. I remember it just like yesterday. But I could not be happier. She is our pride and joy and not a moment goes by that I dont thank my lucky stars for her. She is truly the most wonderful child!! "Short Cut"

Avery got her hair cut on Saturday by a friend of mine named Kaylee B. Avery did a great job!! She was so excited to get her hair cut by Kaylee. She kept calling it a short cut. It was so funny!! Now that her hair is short I can do it much better. She cut off at least 6 inches if not more. Wow oh wow that is a ton of hair.

Flood Damage!!

This is some of damage the flood has caused. We had to ripe out the hard wood in the kitchen, dinning room & laundry room. We also had to ripe out the carpet in the upstairs living room. The carpet downstair is also riped up and now needs to be put back. The dry wall needs to be replaced in the basement and walls re-painted. This has been a long road. Its been kinda hard to do much cooking with the fridge in the living room and the range/oven in the dinning room things have been kinda moved all over the place. But we are making things work. I cant believe all the damage. Lucky for us we have insurance which will be going up but hey at least we have it. Things will look really nice once we get things back together and in their places. I look forward to getting things back to normal.

So Amazing!!

Love It!!!

As you all know we have been wanting to update our house little by little. So this year the big project is the kitchen. I wanted to turn the cabients from a light oak to a black like almost everything in our home. And get all new appliance's. And of course have granted counter tops. So we did almost all that but we were not able to get the granted yet. That will come a little later in the year. But it looks so nice and just how I pictured it in my mind. I have to say that my husband is the best!! He did most of it all yesterday why I was at work. What a great guy he is. We still have a few things that we are finishing such as the antiquing of the cabients and painting the chair backs but for the most part it finished and looks amazing!!

Snow, snow, snow!! We have had so many days of snow that we just had to take advange of it an make a snowman. Every time that it snows and Blain goes out to shovel the walk Ave has to go too. Blain even got a shovel for her that is her size. So cute what a helper. But for Christmas Ave got a sled and she had to take it out and play with it. I had to make hot chocolate just to get her to come in. With all the fun toys its hard to get her to come back in. She had tons of fun!!

This year has come and I have not even posted a thing yet!! We have been so busy!! So here is how we started off the new year. We were headed to Tiffany & Sean's new house to celebrate the New Year and Lydia's Birthday with the whole family. It was so great that everyone was able to be there. It was close. Dad and Cheryl almost didnt make it. They had spent the night in the Anniversary Inn here in Logan for their Anniversary and were on their way to Tiff when we got the call that they had been in a small accident. So we came to help and this is what we saw. So after that we head up to SLC and things worked out much better. I think this will be one of those things that we can laugh about later. But at the time it was not funny poor Cheryl was stuck in the car and had to just sit there are freeze why we waited for the tow truck. But like I said it all turned out fine and the rest of time was great!!

Today was a sad day at Smithfield Chiropractic. It was Ryan's last day. He and his family are moving to Washington. For Christmas Eve we started over at my Grandma & Grandpa Cantwell's house. We had wanted want to go over the night before but got back from looking at lights a bit to late so we headed over after Blain got off from work. We just love spending time with them. After that we went over to my Great Grandma June's. My Grandpa Ron and Cie had come up to spend Christmas here and we thought we should stop by and see what they were up to. It was so nice to be able to see them again. Avery had the best time playing with Cie. And of course its not a trip to Grandmas without some of Uncle Clair's homemade fudge. It was super yummy!! After all the fun we thought we better head home to open our Christmas Eve Pj's its a tradition to open a set of pj's the night before. Avery thought this was great. She was so excited!! She could not wait to get the pj's on. She was really happy!!

Ok so how many of you are like me and get SAD when the winter comes? I have never been a winter person. Sure there are many fun things to do in the winter like snowboarding, sledding, ice skating etc. But they all have to do with snow and ice and I am not a big fan of them. Funny cause I live here in Utah where 10 out of the 12 months are winter. I think we are due for a move to somewhere warn!! However both Blain & Ave like the winter weather crazy people!! But I was reading this article on wintertime blues and I really liked what it had to say: More than 25 million Americans experience the winter blues, a form of depression that makes a person feel irritable, lenghargic, and hungry for carbohydrates-rich foods. (Now that makes me feel better its a medical thing!!) These winter blues are often due to a drop in serotonin, a brain chemical that regulates mood and hunger. In response to low serotonin levels, the body craves sweets, which temporarily raise the level of serotonin. But this high is often followed by a crash, setting up a hunger-and-mood roller coaster that often leads to overeating and weight gain. Here are some easy ways to combat your "winter blues" munchies
- Eat more protein. (this help you stay full longer)
- Eat some honey before bed. (this can help improve sleep and boost your mood)
- Cut back on your intake of caffeine (caffeine only aggravates the blues)

Avery saw a pink tree in the store and thought it was the best thing ever. She asked if she could have one for her birthday. So i found this cute little tree and we picked out all sorts of fun stuff to put on it. We had lots of fun and now she has her very own little pink tree. She just loves it. For Thanksgiving this year we got to spend time with Blain's Family. We went down to Dad & Cheryl's house. It was lots of fun to see Chris & Kaylee and Lydia and the kids. Avery had fun playing with her cousin. We even got to stop by and see Cali, Justin and Baby Boston. Who by the way is super cute. Good job guys!! All in all it was nice to spend time with family. 6 Years!!

Ok so the month of October was really busy for us. We had so much going on that I was not able to post about our 6 year Anniversary. On October 23rd we celebrated our 6years together. That night we went down to Syracuse to do Vendor Night at the daycare. It was tons of fun but lots of hard work. So we really didnt get to celebrate to much. But the next day was Kaylee's endowment session which she did in the Logan Temple. And we got to be part of. It was so great. It was kind of nice that they picked to get married just a week after us cause the whole time I was reminded of our wedding and the commitment and convents we had made together. It was also nice to see the love that they had for each other and how happy they have become together. As I watched them a flood of memories came back to me and how that had once and still is me and Blain. During the ceremony Kaylee had this look on her face that remind me of myself and I just had to laugh. I felt like I knew just what was going though her mind. I was pretty sick at the wedding and they had each person introduce themseleves and give advice to them. I was not able to do eitherof these things. But as I listened in pain to each person who stood and spoke they all had good words of wisdom. The advice that I wanted to share with them is just the same as the sealers. He told them as they grow together and go through trials and hard times as well as the good ones they will find they love each other more than they do now. I can testify of this. I think that I and Kaylee are very fortunate to have the Young boys as our husbands. They are good kind men who love with all their hearts and they always put there wife's needs and wants before their own. I know that the 6 years we have been married has been the best 6 years of my life. I am over joyed that I have someone who loves me for me and is always there to listen laugh and love me. I am so grateful for a mother in law who raised her boys up in the gospel and showed them how to treat and respect women. I know that through all the hard times and struggles we have had together that my love has grown. I know that Blain is always there for me. I know that I can go though anything and I will have his support and love. It makes the good times that much better. I know in the scriptures it talks about unity and how we should try to become as one. I truly feel as if we have done this and that we complete one other. So I look forward to many more happy years together. Thanks Blain I love you and cant wait to see what the future holds for us. Because I know that with you I can do anything!!

Hair Hair and More Hair

Avery has so much hair. Its not even funny!! Since the day she was born. Everyone to this day still will stop us in the store and tells us how much hair she has.(As if I didnt know.) She had about 6 inches cut off about a year ago and within 4 months it had all grown back. So it has been up to me on how to do it!! Which if you know me you know that I am not the best at doing hair. Just look at mine!! But I do have to say that her Dad has been pretty good at helping with her hair. He has had to do it many times when I have not been around and it has come out rather good. So I have been searching for ways to do Ave's hair. She has been such a trooper with it all. I starting looking at some websites that show you how to do it. Which has worked great. But all in all we like to come up with some of our own. And this is one of them. Hope you all enjoy. Best Husband Ever!!

Ok just so you all know I have the best husband ever!! I know that some of you have great husbands which is great but no one has one as good as me!! Over the weekend my arm starting hurting so bad that I could not even use/move it. I layed in bed and cryed!! I thought for sure I was going to die!! Well my dear, sweet hubby came home and had all sorts of things to cheer me up!! One of the best things was the KT Tape(Kinesiology Therapeutic Tape)!! If you have not heard of this tape I will tell you all about it. Its so neat. Its used to help and support muscles and joints, provides pain relief, waterproof, enhance muscle and joint mobility. So he taped up my arm and gave me more pain meds!! I started to feel much better. I cant tell you just how much that tape helped my arm if not for that I dont know what I would have done!! But to make things ever better I had to work on Monday which I was kinda worried about so I went into work and Dr Johnson re raped my arm in a basket wave. By raping the tape in different patterns it will help with certain problems and cause he specialist in this he was able to help me even more!! Thanks Dr J!! But the topper is that my dear, sweet, hot hubby came into my work with a dozen red roses and hot coca for me!! He is so sweet to me. He is always thinking to ways to make me happy and help me out!! How can one person be so lucky!! I am so greatful for him. He is not only the best husband ever but he is the best Daddy!! Just ask his mini me who walks and talks in his ever foot step!! Blain we love you sooo much and we think your the best Daddy and husband and Boss ever!! Thanks for all you do for us!! And especially for me!!

She was so excited on her 1st day!!

Avery started Shining Star Pre-School yesterday!! Her teacher is Miss Hilary. She runs a preschool out of her home and she only lives like 2 house down from us!! Can you say perfect!! Avery has been asking to go to preschool for almost over 2 weeks now every day she would ask me "Mom can we go to pre school please!!" It has been cute but also really hard after she ask you 10 times in one hour!! So she was way excited to get up and get dresses in her new school clothes and get her backpack down. We went shopping for a backpack a couple days before and it was kinda hard to find anything would fit a 3 yr old. But just as we were ready to go home we stopped one last time and found her this super cool capri sun backpack that fits just perfect. She was so happy that she jumps up and down with excitment each time she wears it. Her first assigment was to decorate the star with things that she likes and things about her. So we got a few magazine out and looked at all the pages and found some things that she wanted to put on there. She really enjoyed doing it. Plus it was kinda fun for me too. And it helped the other kids get to know her. She had a fun find day as she got to know all her classmates and learned the rules of the class. Plus she also got to make her own pizza and made her favorite toy out of play dough. She can wait for tomorrow to go back and play some more. I am so happy that she is loving the school thing plus it helps her learn and play with other kids a mothers dream!!

So after talking to my cousin Gina at our family reunion I found out that we had a little piece of history just down the street. Come to find out my Great Grandma June and all her family are from the Hyrum area and helped found the city. And this is the barn that Warren McBride built in 1925. We came to take a look around and get some pic's and lucky for us Madelyn McBride was there. She was so sweet and nice and let us look all around. She and her husband are the caretakers of the barn and farm. We are related and it was so nice to get to know her and hear all the family history. I feel so blessed that the barn and farm have been able to be kept in the family. I think it so wonderful that I have the opportunity to go and see the land and touch what they worked so hard to build. What a great feeling I had as I walked around the farm. What a great experience it was!!

Andrews Family Reunion!!

We had a such a fun time at the Andrews Family Reunion. Lucky for us it was at Willow Park just about 5 mins away from us. It was so good to get to see everyone. It had been over 10 years since I had seen some of the family. I was a little worried that no one would recognize me but they did. I was so thankful that Mardyne was there to welcome us. She was so sweet to us and reintroduced me to all the family. I cant beleive how much all the kids had grown. Some of the cousins that I would tend where all grown up. It was such fun to get to see everyone again. Great Grandma June is 93 years old and is still doing well. She lives at home with Clair and I think that is so great for being her age. We were able to get a picture with her Avery and I, which is a 5 generation picture (missing my Grandpa Ron & my Mom) who were not able to come. I was so happy to have that. What a memory!!

This is us getting out and getting ready to go home it got cold fast!!

Some friends of our invited us to go with them to their ward party which was at the Aquatic Center. It was tons of fun but we were not able to get in the water till a little after 7:30pm(they had to close the pool to the public)so it was kinda cold. The sun had just about gone down and so after we got out of the water it was freezing. So we had to hurry and grab out towels and run for the car. But it was tons of fun and we are so glad they asked us to come. Thanks guys we love ya!!

We all went to the lake to cool down. It was a very hot day and with no air it can get super hot. So we head down to the lake for a BBQ and some swimming. It was lots of fun. The kids had so much fun on the log. Avery didnt like the water cause it was brown and she thought it was dirty!! But she loved playing on the log. In the spirit of the month of July when we celebrate our Independance and our heritiage I thought this was fitting. Our little town of Hyrum has a bit of history. We might not be related to any of these families that were listed but it reminders me of our pioneer ancestors who traveled across the plains!! Im a big fan of history and love anything that has to do with geneology. As you might have guessed we are related to the Prophet Brigham Young. And with that come many stories. I just love to see and hear all the pioneer stories and what it must have been like clear back then.

The other day Avery asked if she could have Mickey Mouse Pancakes and if she could go to the park. We thought why not it would be fun. So in the morning we made the pancakes which were a big hit. Avery just loved them. And then later we head off to the park. It was such a nice day. Avery played and played. Then we headed home for some ice cream. Its been so hot at our house and since we dont have any air we have to have something to help with the heat. And the best thing we found was ice cream. Blain loves the dot ice cream and so lucky for me one day why I was shopping at the new Walmart (which can I just tell you I love) I found some for a $1.00 each WOW!! And there was tons of fun favors!! So it was a perfect end to a wonderful day!!

We were able to take some time and go see my family. It was so much fun to see my parents and my little brother and my niece Hailey. Today we were scheduled to have our family pictures done. But because of the rain it was cancelled. Bummer we were looking forward to it. At the first of this month it was Cayden's & Kayleb's Birthday!! They both turned 8!! Which was way exciting. And they both made the decision to be baptised. And they did it on the same day. Lots of fun stuff going on in one day. Me & Blain were not able to make it to the baptism. But we were able to come down later for the barbeque/cake. We are so proud of the boys and the decision they made to be baptised. It was also good to see all the family together. We love when everyone is able to come together and have a good old time!!

After Blain got home from work one night he put his helmet on the table and the next thing we know Avery is wearing his helmet around. It was so funny cause its so big she can barley keep her head up. She loves Blain's Mototcycle. She ask him all the time if she can go for a ride. One of the all time best things is when it was winter Blain put his bike into storage and for days she kept telling us that someone took Daddys bike!! She was so worried about it!!

Both Blain & Chris had to work on Memorial Day. But after they got home we went over and had a BBQ!! It was tons of fun. After we were done we went over to Amanda sisters farm and looked around. I could not get over how beautiful this farm was. I am way excited to get our family photos done here. This place is perfect and a special thank you to Amanda sister Joni who was such a sweetheart and just let us walk around the place. Avery has been here before and just loves the place and thinks the cow are so cool. The whole way home she was moooing!! It was so funny!!

Avery saved up all her money ($50.00) and wanted to buy this power wheel. Her friends Miles & Jace both have one and so she has been riding theirs around and just loved it. So we decide to help her out a bit and she has never been happier!! We took it over to their house for Memorial Day and they all droved around and around having the best time ever.(hopefully I can post the video im not sure how yet but I will try) It was so much fun to see how happy she was. And she just loved driving. She was pretty good she had a few crashes and times when she need Daddy's help. But all in all she did WAY GOOD!! I cant tell you how excited she was to play with her new jeep it had been raining for 2 days so she never got to ride it and she was so bummed. She would just sit at the back patio door and look at her jeep under the cover and tell us that it was raining she couldnt ride her new jeep. So when the rain stopped we were out there as fast as we could.

We had such a fun weekend!! We went up the canyon and took a hike and then BBQ with some close friends of ours Chris & Amanda!! Oh boy did we have fun!! It was such a nice day and so we played and played and then we had dinner and after dinner we stared a fire and made smores!! The kids had a blast. Avery loves playing with Jace and Miles. They have the best toys and she thinks she is one of the boys!! She just loves to hang out with Amanda/Chris. I asked Avery to hold my hand during part of the walk and she told me "No" and ran over to Amanda and hald her hand. I was feeling pretty sad but happy that she and Amanda have so much fun together. She just loves being one of the Egberts!! Sorry guys!! Now you have an extra one for life. I knew you always wanted a girl!! he he he... But we had so much fun we cant wait to go do it again this summer!!

"Long ago an angel shared her heart with me and I with her. We will be one forever and always.

Yesterday was a sad day for the Young Family. We went and visited Vickie's grave. (Blain's Mom). May 15th marks 5 years that she has been gone. We miss her each and every day. There is not a moment that goes by that we dont think or remember her. We tell Avery storys about Grandma Vickie all the time. And how she helped Heavenly Father send her to us. We are so blessed to have such a angel watch over us. We can feel her present with us daily and know she is there whenever we need to talk or just to comfort us in our time of need. We miss her so much and our hearts are full of sorrow and pain. But we know she has finally found peace and is truthly happy.
